The Just of It: Team Plante defeated Team Roenick, 6-4, in the fourth annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York, on September 24, 2015.

Celebrity Coaches: Derek Plante (Cloquet, Minn.), who was drafted out of high school by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, and Jeremy Roenick (Boston, Mass), a nine-time NHL All-Star whose career goals goals (513) and points (1216) rank fourth all-time among NHL Americans, served as head coaches for the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.

Most Valuable Player: Luke McInnis (Hingham, Mass) notched two points, including the game-winning goal on the powerplay with 1:50 remaining, to earn MVP honors.

High-Scoring Affair: The 10 combined goals were the most scored in a CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game before Team LeClair and Team Howe tied the mark a year later in Philadelphia. Team Roenick’s Luke Kunin (Chesterfield, Mo.) started the scoring barrage with the fastest goal in the game’s history just 10 seconds into the contest.

Draft Picks Galore: 25 players that participated in the game went on to be chosen in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, including a record 10 first-round selections. A pair of those first-round picks, Matthew Tkachuk (6th overall, CGY) and Kunin (15th overall, MIN), netted goals just 10 seconds apart in the third period for the fastest pair of tallies in CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game history.

When I was a player, I think anybody who was over 6-foot-4 was usually pretty slow, but these guys were amazingly fast for their size. It’s really fun to watch these guys play like that and as they grow into their bodies they can only get better and better.”
