The National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Bureau today released its final rankings of the top 2014 draft-eligible prospects, and the list features 32 of the 39 players that skated in the second annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game last September.
The CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game aims to showcase the top U.S. players leading up to their draft year. The participants of the game are selected by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.
Included in the final rankings are six players placed among the top-20 North American skaters – forwards Alex Tuch (No. 12), Sonny Milano (No. 16), Dylan Larkin (No. 17), Nick Schmaltz (No. 19) and Ryan MacInnis (No. 20); and defenseman Tony DeAngelo (No. 14).
Also cracking the rankings are all four goaltenders that played in the 2013 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, including the top-ranked North American goalie, Thatcher Demko, along with Alex Nedeljkovic (No. 4), Ed Minney (No. 7) and Blake Weyrick (No. 11).
The 2014 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 27-28 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
