COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Hockey announced the coaching staffs for Team Blue and Team White for the 2025 Chipotle All-American Game, set for Jan. 16 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
Andy Brandt (Wausau, Wis.), head coach and general manager of the United States Hockey League’s Madison Capitols, will serve as head coach of Team Blue, while Ryan Cruthers (Farmingdale, N.Y.), head coach of the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, will be at the helm of Team White.
Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised live on NHL Network. Tickets are on sale now and available here.
Brandt is in his second season as head coach and general manager of the Capitols, who are currently third in the USHL’s Eastern Conference with a 16-9-2-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after making a Clark Cup Playoffs appearance last season. Brandt, who played hockey at the University of Wisconsin, served as an assistant coach for the program during the 2022-23 season. His coaching experience also includes five seasons as associate head coach of the St. Norbert College men’s hockey team (2017-2022), and prior to that he spent two seasons as head coach and general manager of the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators (2015-2017). He also served as an assistant coach of the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators for two seasons (2013-15), his first coaching role after wrapping up his seven-year professional playing career as a forward in the AHL and ECHL.
Jimmy Spratt (Chesterfield, Mich.) will serve as an assistant coach for Team Blue. Spratt is in his first season as an assistant coach of the USHL’s Fargo Force, who are currently stand in second place in the league’s Western Conference with a 19-8-2-2 (W-OTW-OTL-SOL) record. Prior to joining Fargo, Spratt served as an assistant coach for Northern Michigan University men’s hockey team in 2023-24, and the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers in 2022-23. From 2019-2022, he was the director of hockey operations for the University of Miami Ohio men’s hockey team, and served in the same capacity for his alma mater, Bowling Green State University from 2014-19. Before joining the coaching ranks, Spratt played four seasons professionally as a goaltender in the AHL and ECHL after a four-year playing career at Bowling Green.
Hockey Hall of Famer Jeremy Roenick (Boston, Mass.) is serving as Team Blue’s honorary coach.
Cruthers is in his first season as head coach of Sioux Falls and has led the team to a league-best 21-6-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record through 29 games. This is his second stint with the Stampede after previously serving as an assistant coach during the 2022-23 season. His experience also includes a one-year stint (2023-24) as the head coach and general manager of the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Fayetteville Marksmen. Cruthers served as head coach and general manager of the United States Premier Hockey League’s Charlotte Rush from 2015-2022, winning two USPHL-Elite titles in that time. He also previously served as head coach and general manager of the USHL’s Chicago Steel from 2017-18. The Farmingdale, N.Y., native played collegiately at West Point (2003-05) and Robert Morris University (2006-08) before beginning an eight-year professional career as a forward in the AHL and ECHL.
Rory Dynan (Orono, Minn.) will serve as an assistant coach for Team White. Dynan is currently in his first season as an assistant coach for the USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints. Prior to joining to Dubuque, the Orono, Minn., native served in the same capacity for Acadie Bathurst-Titan in 2023-24. His experience also includes a seven-year stint as an assistant coach for the Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team from 2016-23. Dynan began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Orono High School boy’s hockey (2011-13) and Buffalo High School boy’s hockey (2013-14), and he spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant for the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League.
Former NHL goaltender Robert Esche (Utica, N.Y.), who today serves as president of the AHL’s Utica Comets, is Team White’s honorary coach.
