Oliver Moore (Mounds View, Minn.) opened the scoring 5:05 into the first period, firing a wrist shot into the top right corner off a feed from Joe Palodichuk (Cottage Grove, Minn.) to put Team White up 1-0.

Midway through the period, goaltender Jacob Fowler (Melbourne, Fla.) made a sprawling save on the doorstep to deny a golden opportunity from Team Blue. With just over six minutes remaining in the frame, Sam Harris (San Diego, Calif.) evened the game, batting in a tipped puck from Tanner Ludtke (Elko, Minn.) out of the air off his own shot at 13:56.

Team Blue opened the second period with a goaltender change, as Trey Augustine (South Lyon, Mich.) gave way to USA Hockey National Team Development Program teammate Carsen Musser (Sherburn, Minn.) after stopping six of seven shots through 20 minutes of action. Jack Spicer (Rockville, Md.) took over for Fowler in the Team White net at the 10:34 mark of the second, exiting the game with 12 saves on 13 shots in 30:34 minutes of action. 

With 8:32 remaining in the middle frame, defenseman Seth Constance (Northville, Mich.) forced a turnover in the offensive zone and directed the puck towards Smith, who unloaded a one-timer that put Team Blue up 2-1

HIGHLIGHTS

Just less than three minutes later, Alex Weiermair (Los Angeles, Calif.) found Will McDonough (Duxbury, Mass.), who capitalized on a near-side shot to extend the Team Blue lead. Zack Sharp (Naperville, Ill.) gave Team Blue a 4-1 advantage with :41 left in the second after collecting a rebound from an Eric Pohlkamp (Brainerd, Minn.) shot from the point, and scoring from the bottom of the left circle. 

Michael Chambre opened the third in goal for Team Blue, as Musser finished the game stopping all six shots he faced over 20 minutes. Team White’s Zeev Buium (San Diego, Calif.) cut the Team Blue advantage to 4-2 just 1:33 into the final period off a nice cross-ice pass from Nick Vantassell (Basking Ridge, N.J.). Smith answered shortly after for Team Blue on a penalty shot for his second goal of the game. Vantassell scored the first power play goal of the contest to make it 5-3 at 8:48, with Buium and Palodichuk picking up assists on the play.

Team White gave one final push and pulled its netminder with 2:25 to go, but Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) sealed the game with :47 seconds to go on an empty-net goal to account for the 6-3 final.
