COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today the 47 players who will compete in the 2023 BioSteel All-American Game, set for Jan. 16 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. The contest, which will feature top prospects eligible for the NHL Draft is set for 4 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on NHL Network.
The game format this year will have players assigned to teams, from both the U.S. National Under-18 Team of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and the United States Hockey League, the nation’s only Tier 1 junior hockey league.
The 47 players hail from 14 different states, with Minnesota’s 12 players leading all states. A total of 10 different teams from the USHL are represented across the two rosters and 42 of the 47 players are currently committed to play NCAA Division I college hockey, across 21 schools.
The BioSteel All-American Game has featured 265 NHL Draft picks, including 58 total first-round selections. Logan Cooley, Cutter Gauthier, Frank Nazar III, Rutger McGroarty, Jimmy Snuggerud, Sam Rinzel, and Isaac Howard, all 2022 first-round NHL Draft picks, have played in the BioSteel All-American Game.
