Rosters Updated Ahead of 2022 BioSteel All-American Game

Top American prospects eligible for 2022 NHL Draft set to compete tomorrow

Plymouth, Mich. – USA Hockey today announced that defenseman Lukas Gustafsson (Alpharetta, Ga./Chicago Steel), and forwards Ben Strinden (Fargo, N.D./Muskegon Lumberjacks), Philip Tresca (Newton, Mass./Muskegon Lumberjacks) and Nicholas VanTassell (Basking Ridge, N.J./Green Bay Gamblers) will participate in the 2022 BioSteel All-American Game, which will take place tomorrow (Jan. 17) at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

Gustafsson and VanTassell will play for Team Blue, while Strinden and Tresca will join Team White. The game format this year will have players assigned to teams, from both the U.S. National Under-18 Team of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and the United States Hockey League, the nation’s only Tier 1 junior hockey league.

Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET and the game will be televised live on NHL Network. Tickets for the BioSteel All-American Game are currently on sale at the USA Hockey Arena box office or online, here.

The BioSteel All-American Game has featured more than 240 NHL Draft picks, including 50 total first-round selections. 2021 first round NHL Draft picks Matty Beniers, Cole Sillinger, Matt Coronato, Chaz Lucius and Mackie Samoskevich all previously played in the BioSteel All-American Game.

NOTES: The four players will replace Quinn Finley, Devin Kaplan, Cruz Lucius and Kaden Muir who will not be able to compete due to injury … The 2022 NHL Draft is set for July 7-8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, home of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens … TRUE is the official equipment partner for the BioSteel All-American Game.
