COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today the 44 players who will compete in the 2022 BioSteel All-American Game, set for Jan. 17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. The contest, which will feature top prospects eligible for the NHL Draft, will be played Jan. 17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and the contest will broadcast live on NHL Network.
The game format this year will have players assigned to teams, from both the U.S. National Under-18 Team of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and the United States Hockey League, the nation’s only Tier 1 junior hockey league.
The 44 players hail from 20 different states, with Minnesota’s 11 players leading all states. Thirteen different teams that compete in the USHL are represented across the two rosters. Forty-three of the 44 players are currently committed to play NCAA Division I college hockey, across 19 different schools.
The BioSteel All-American Game has featured more than 240 NHL Draft picks, including 50 total first-round selections. 2021 first round NHL Draft picks Matty Beniers, Cole Sillinger, Matt Coronato, Chaz Lucius and Mackie Samoskevich all previously played in the BioSteel All-American Game.
